A mold count is not a mycotoxin test
Viable molds and chemical toxins are different measurements, and patchy contamination challenges both.

Molds may produce toxins under certain conditions and later die, leaving toxin behind. Other molds may be viable without making the toxin panel you bought. A visible patch can be diluted by a composite sample or missed entirely by one handful. Organism counts and chemical toxins are related. They are not interchangeable.
Match the test to the question: counts for spoilage pressure, targeted toxin analysis for named toxins, and careful sampling for either. Do not treat one negative result as proof that the entire storage is clean.
Check in the barn
What to check: What was ordered — a mold count, a yeast count, or a named mycotoxin panel? Was the sample taken from the heating seam or from a mixed composite that buried it? Are cows telling a different story than the bag? Repeat sampling before you declare the pile safe.
